Christ Episcopal Church: Big Mural ADULT EDUCATION

ADULT FORUM

Sundays in the Parish Hall 9:30 - 10:15 a.m.

"Thy Kingdom Come" A Three Season Adult Forum Series for 2008 Needless to say, throughout Christian history, the church has had to face its future, because the future is an inherently human, as well as religious concern.  For Christians, history has a goal, not just an end.  Biblically, Resurrection, like Creation, points us to a future that is God's, not just our own.  The hope for the "life of the world to come," is not just a creedal statement about Heaven, but concerns how our own mortal, earthly lives are shaped by our planet's future, our present choices and our ongoing experience of faith in God's purpose for us.

MIDWEEK

OFFERINGS

Wednesday Evening Bible Study On April 9 at 7:00 p.m. the Wednesday Bible study group begins reading and discussing the Book of Acts.  Prior participation, formal training, advanced degrees, and entrance exams are not required.  The experience will be more rewarding if you are willing to spend some time reading and thinking about the week’s chapters and have an interest sharing your responses to the reading and considering the responses of others. Please sign up on the sheet on the parish hall bulletin board. Leaders will include Claude Lauck and Kerry McCarty.

Lingo for Gringos • Those who have never taken a Spanish class, those who took a few years in high school, and those who know their stuff are invited to join us Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. as we learn a new language.  Not only will we be learning about a language, but hopefully learning about a culture and having fun in the process!  Please sign up on the Parish Hall bulletin board and if you have any questions regarding these classes, please send an e-mail to Chris Pohlad-Thomas at cpohlad@cox.net or call 540-529-1554.
